Student Computer Desks
Student computer desks are a solid investment if your child uses the computer often for school work. These desks are simple but effective, as well as comfortable and laid out in a way that is useful for just about anything anyone would need a desk for.
Standard computer desks are very similar to student models except in one main detail: student models do not have drawers. A normal computer desk has at least one drawer for you to keep office supplies and papers in, which is, of course, convenient. However, student computer desks usually do not have that feature as they are generally very minimalist and are built solely for the purposes of using the computer and doing paper work -- or in this case, homework.
While they lack the drawer or drawers that standard desk models have, they do have the keyboard shelf that located just under the top of every computer desk. Don't let their name fool you: anyone can use one of these desks to do work. They are merely called student desks because they are the smaller, less featured alternative to a full-blown computer or office desk.
If you are trying to get something to do work on and are on a budget, then one of these desks would most likely be perfect for you. Their lack of a drawer gives them a better price and a lighter weight so they are good alternatives to more expensive desk models. They are not just made of plywood either, manufacturers make them in every material that they would for any other models.
Student computer desks may have one less function than other desks, but when made of wood they are just as durable and nearly indestructible as anything else could possibly be. Steel student desks are also more durable than those made of plywood, though they are not as strong as those made of wood. They are a good middle point between expensive wooden models and far-too-cheap plywood ones. If you are looking for a desk that will last a good amount of time and will not break your budget, a steel one might be your best bet.
There are hundreds of thousands of different desk models on the market, so don't feel tethered to just the student varieties. There are so many brands, types, lines, and materials that computer desks come in that you should not feel like you have to choose one because they might be a little cheaper than some other kinds. Carefully decide what kind you want based on your needs and your budget, and if you can not come up with anything else then say yes to student computer desks. They're not bad, they're not good. They are just right there in the middle.
